This seminar is given by Prof. Dr. Hannah Bast, assisted by Elmar Haußmann. The seminar takes place every Wednesday, 2:15 pm - 3:45 pm, in the seminar room 01-018 in building 101. Our first session is on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. The last session is on Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
There is no sessions on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 because HB is out of town. On Wednesday December 28, 2011 and on Wednesday January 4, 2012 there is no session due to the christmas break. That's 13 sessions altogether. All sessions are recorded (video + audio).
The topics and dates will be assigned in the first session. Here is a tentative list of topics (each of which will be explained a bit more in the first session): POS tagging, text chunking, entity recognition, clause identification, semantic role labeling, syntax parsing, grammars, super-tagging, sentence simplification, machine learning teachniques, question answering, entity retrieval, NLP systems and applications.
