Number of participants in the evaluation: '''78'''. Number of registrations for the exam: '''76''' (49 for the written exam + 27 for the oral exam). Ratio of these two numbers: '''102%'''. The evaluation was web-based and run via the University's central evaluation system !EvaSys. A mail with a personalized link to the online evaluation form was sent by the system on Saturday, January 13. A reminder was sent on Friday, January 19. The evaluation was closed on the evening of Saturday, January 27. In total, 9 students reported that they didn't received neither the first mail nor the reminder mail from the !EvaSys system, although all of them were registered for the course in !HisInOne. After a request to Martina Nopper (by mail), a mail was sent to these 9 students manually by the !EvaSys team (on January 24) such that eventually all participants received an e-mail with their personalized link. Participation was anonymous. The evaluation was also announced to the participants of the course in [[https://daphne.informatik.uni-freiburg.de/ws1718/InformationRetrieval/svn/public/slides/lecture-11.pdf#page=6|Lecture 11, slide 6]]. Participation was also asked for as part of [[https://daphne.informatik.uni-freiburg.de/ws1718/InformationRetrieval/svn/public/exercises/sheet-11.pdf|Exercise Sheet 11]]. 20 points were awarded, which were announced to be used to replace the points of the worst exercise sheet (there were 13 exercise sheets overall, for each of which a maximum of 20 points could be achieved). This year (as for the last year), 50% out of the maximum number of points from the exercise sheets (that is, 130 out of 260 points) were required to be admitted to the exam. Participation in the evaluation was 102% this year (number of submitted evaluation forms / number of exam registrations) vs. 95% last year (vs. 71% is WS15/16 where everyone was admitted to the exam, regardless of the number of points achieved in the exercises). In previous years, where also 50% of the points from the exercise sheets was required for exam admission, participation was also over 90%. In the following, all comments given in the free-text fields of the evaluation are provided (in the order in which they appear in the !EvaSys report). The comments were copied verbatim, except for a few corrections (wrt orthography, grammar, etc. ... no change of meaning). If you see a comment from yourself which you do not want to appear in this list or if you find a comment that you think was inaccurately transcribed, send an (anonymous, if you prefer) email to Hannah Bast. She managed to explain complicated algorithms and theories on a level that was understandable for everybody (even for someone who doesn't study computer science!) Bast's been a blast! The lectures were really exciting, in spite of video live streaming, I didn't give up lecture attendance. Because professor Bast is respectful to the students, always friendly and you can feel, that she wants to teach you something (not only doing her job). She uses didactic "tricks". Classes were not boring, without losing the academic style and correctness. It was really evident that she was an expert regarding what she was teaching. Comments about practical issues helped a lot to see how to use something in "real life". Live programming is really hard (I have done it myself), because always something goes wrong. She could solve any issue in less than a minute without problems. Die einzige Veranstaltung wo ich gerne in die Vorlesung gehe Dr. Bast has the academic acumen as well as amazing style of presentation. That is a hard combination to find. First of all, Prof. Bast reminds us what we should know to understand further knowledge, and she reteaches most of the time. Hence, students really understand (without just trying to understand or remember) what was told. Secondly, she connects topics to each other very clearly. She does not leave our understanding to chance. Instead of saying things and leaving us to understand beyond what was told, she pushes us to really learn them. Her behaviour at the lecture was just perfectly balanced. She wasn’t so strict, and frightening that prevents us to engage with the lecture, but also she wasn’t so friendly that we lose our respect to her and to her class. She was friendly when it was suitable, and she was criticising and grumpy when it was the correct moment. Lastly, I think the way she plans the course is perfect. Everything was smooth, and understandable. Students can also all the previous lecture content, which is a great transparency that I appreciate a lot. Thank you Prof. Great didactics, well organized, interessting lecture, really helpful exercises, motivating and a nice sense for humor. Hannah Bast is one of the best lecturers the University has. Her methods on showing students new topics by programming on the fly in the lecture and her way of humor when presenting make her lectures always fun to attend and motivate to deal with the topic I felt the amount of effort given in designing the course is exceptional. Such an active forum by answering all questions in no time is really amazing. They indeed cared for us in learning more and helped us through out the course. I like how professor uses the multimedia technologies during presentation of the course such as live streaming and publishing course over social media. I nominate this lecturer because I learned a lot in this course and it was due to the teaching style and the exercise sheets. I pretty much think that the professor is ace and always has some nice anecdotes to motivate learning other things in tandem (mostly maths), the research done is very thorough and the course is such that if you follow it actively, you really don't need a textbook (maybe one if you are a hobbyist) - this i think singles out the course being a hit among many other peers as well. Is always trying to improve the lecture and explains difficult content in a way which makes it very easy to grasp. It made complicated looks simple and improved my skills in programming and applied mathematics a great deal. Just the best course I have ever attended. Prof. Bast presents the content of this lecture in a very comprehensible way, including references to the practical relevance of the topics. The corresponding exercises are really helpful for understanding the content and seeing the practical relevance. The students are supported very well, questions are answered very quickly and thoroughly. Prof. Bast's enthusiasm for this course is infectious, and she encouraged all the students to play around with the concepts we covered in lectures. Prof. Basts' didactics are near perfect. Everything she says in her lecture is easy to understand although the topics are complicated. She takes time to really prepare everything for the lecture as well as personally manages questions on the forum which is exceptional. Prof. Hannah is the most well-prepared lecturer I've ever seen my whole education life. She definitely knows what she is doing and what she is going to do. It was a great experience. Sie ist halt super The class is one of the best I have had. Very interactive and useful content The course combined theories and practices perfectly. This professor is super professional, gives us all the information we need in order to solve the exercises unlike my other professor. Which is a big advantage because it saves us a lot of time and we get a great learning experience out it. Through the lectures and exercises, one really can learn things. 1. The contents of lectures are well-designed to be easy to understand and absorb. 2. Prof. Bast has the magic power to explain things in a really clear way as if all the things are just so simple. 3. Everything including slides, recordings, websites, exercise sheets and databases are prepared with heart. Well, being at the end of my Master's I had the chance to take some courses and experience different teaching methods. Thus far, this was one of the best courses regarding all aspects I value, I've attended. It's hard to force someone to do work, and even more hard to do some challenging work; like wrapping his head around a concept. I never felt forced to do work for this course; I felt just appreciation that I'm able to take part of this course, eagerness to learn by doing and I felt as well obliged to do my best at exercises given to us to pay respect to the people, who have prepared the course. I think that is some emotion to provoke in a student, deserving a nomination! The one who asks this question must seriously attend the lecture by professor Bast. Then this question would answer itself. :-) == What did you like about this course? Just one of the best lectures I've ever had, everythings perfect, learned so much here. Sympathische Dozentin und Tutoren Praxisnahe Beispiele Viele interessante Übungsaufgaben Wahl der Programmiersprache offen Humor und Eastereggs The recordings are very helpful, not only if someone cannot go to the live lecture, but also for repeating the content of it; it is also very nice how they are presented with picture in picture, not only screen recordings, it is very professional. When asking questions in the forum they are answered very quickly. The content is presented humorously where possible, e. g. the code injection examples in the web application or in the exercise sheets the instruction to turn over, using some content from the lecture. All in all it is one of the best lectures I have visited so far - maybe even the best A super interesting lecture which really improved my programming and math skills. Mrs. Bast is the best prof I know in explaining math. I did understand things, which I did not in several math lectures. And she always gives you an a quite good intuition on how to program the shown algorithms. The lecture recording is almost perfect, no big difference than being actually present in the lecture. But this is probably the reason why there are not that much students present in the lecture. Amazing class, I got to learn a lot of interesting topics such as indexing and compression. The friendly way of Prof. Bast. And her explanations. The little jokes to lighten the atmosphere. The USEFUL forum. Dr. Bast is one of the few lecturers that I don't lose focus in her lectures. That list of lectures includes lecturers in Uni-Freiburg and lecturers from my under-grad university. Engaging the students is essential for me at least. I agree that too much diversion from the content is not beneficial but also reading the content in a monotonous voice unfortunately causes my mind to wander. Maybe I am not bright enough or have short attention span but I prefer's Dr. Bast presentation style. Everything builds up to a bigger picture. Right from the inverted index to LSI all are stacked neatly to form a nice pyramid of knowledge. The course has nice aids and the lecturer is amazing. The exercises are also good for knowledge basis. Everything was discussed at the lecture. I didn't waste my time for searching things in the internet. I have learnd a lot. I find topic of the lecture very interesting. Great that recordings are avaible. I had another lecture while this class and I could successfully attend both. It was visible that everything on this course was well planned. Lecture, sheet - how much time is needed to do it. I really appreciate it. I love the sense of humor of Prof. Dr. Hannah Bast. Great lecture given by an even greater lecturer. The exercises were designed to perfectly take you out of the lecture and deepen your understanding. I like that the course combined a lot of areas of Computer Science and maths. I like the teaching style of Prof. Bast. Solving simple examples during the lectures, particularly helped me understand and get warm to the content for further work, such as assignments. She doesn’t just assume we have required base knowledge, and try to build on top of it; on the contrary she encourages us and helps us to remember the required base knowledge, and teaches it if necessary. I liked that there was a lot of motivation given from the professor about why is this material useful for us and it always had a practical aspect to it. The lecture and the exercises were very well prepeared and thought of and the exercises corresponded to the material taught in the lecture. I loved the way exercises were given, it helped a lot to understand the underlying concept . Personally for me it was more time demanding so I was unable to do time management properly with other subjects ,and I was doing python coding and java server coding for the first time so it was difficult for me . But that's again my problem totally.I liked the proper video recording of the class because it helped me to understand things even better by listening again and again when required. I really enjoy seeing theories (i.e. Linear Algebra) turn into practical and useful stuff in the exercise although sometimes it takes a lot of time to achieve. I really love this course, because 1. The contents of lectures are well-designed to be easy to understand and absorb. 2. Prof. Bast has the magic power to explain things in a really clear way as if all the things are just so simple. 3. Everything including slides, recordings, websites, exercise sheets and databases are prepared with heart. I would rank my favorite aspects of the course as follows (lower is better): 1. Prof. Bast's style of teaching is very clear and easy to understand. 2. The exercises are a good supplement to the content covered in the lectures. 3. The recordings and livestream are a godsend, as I was always able to watch the lectures from home! 4. I also liked the coding guidelines enforced throughout the course. Especially cultivating the habit of unit testing all non trivial method as well as writing documentation for them. It's a really interesting topic and I've learned a lot about how these things are done e.g. at google. The exercise sheets have been quite hard sometimes but they were also a lot of fun and really helped to understand everything. Live coding, praktischer Lehransatz Live-Programming! One of the nicest things to say about the lecture and exercises is that there is not a single thing to complain about. It was well organized, Prof. Bast is amazing at explaining complicated things in a nice way and the exercises were a perfect extension/repetition of the previous lecture! (I liked this course even more than the already great C++ one.) The response time in the Forum was great too, Claudius K. and Prof. Bast replied quickly and friendly. Thanks! Praktische Übungen mit echten Beispielen und nicht nur Spielzeug-Datenbanken Professor Hannah was always very calm and ready for the lecture. She and Mr. Claudius were always well-prepared for us. They are my super-heros! (my tutor, as well!) I was amazed by the coordination and how well-prepared everything was. The exercise sheets were perfect to work over the concepts we've learned. It was obvious that they were prepared knowing what we are capable of doing. Also, help was always there. Rather elaborate but very useful exercises. Everything is put into a practical context. After revising a lecture, it was always quite clear to me what the acquired knowledge means and how I can use it. High quality recordings are much appreciated! Sehr gute Aufzeichnungen. The Course Structure The course is extremely well structured and easy to follow. Though the content may be difficult at times, enough resources are provided to solve our queries. Professor Bast is without doubt one of the best teachers I've studied from. All the lectures are organized and ordered in an ascending order of complexity. The exercises are designed to deepen understanding of the course and are fun to do, though extremely time consuming. The exercises were all well thought through made lot of fun and very nicely combined theory and praxis. The recordings are excellent which helps a lot for learning and the missed lectures. The quality of the video recordings is very professional. The topics are covered are very up-to-date and useful. In addition, the way the lecture was presented is very good. This was by far my favorite course this semester. Reasons: 1) Before starting my M. Sc. Computer Science I worked as a Software Engineer for 4 years. I faced a lot of problems that were explained during the lectures and tried to solve them with my team. I should have taken this course a few years ago :). Therefore, I was really interested in virtually every topic. Theory aspects were very interesting but also the practical aspects were really useful because I've faced a lot of performance issues as a Software Engineer, so I think I could really understand the problems and take advantage of what was explained. 2) The lecturer, Hannah Bast, was great. Classes were not boring, without loosing the academic style and correctness. Slides were OK. 3) The exercises were really useful and fun to do. Not easy nor difficult. You just needed to understand the topic. First real experience with Python. Understanding all there is behind functioning of Information retrieval systems. I was a bit out of touch from coding but at least i assess where i am or where i think i was, it's a constant process - coding. Definitely realize this a lot more now !, the course is structured brilliantly and there are various mediums to probe more. The professor and course team is supportive. I really like that there were math exercises as well, there is always incentive to learn more and i am thankful that i leave knowing more then before. Also, the cookies are not to be missed :/ Verständliche und fordernde Übungen, die die behandelten Themen gut erklären und ergänzen. We touched a lot of different very interesting topics, and somehow managed to always find a connection back to search engines which I found very interesting, for example I never would have connected clustering/classification with synonyms in my mind. Well, there are quite some things I enjoyed about this course: 1. Exercises: Probably one of the best exercises to a course I had since I started attending university. Doing them forced me to look more into the lecture's content and gave me a sense of understanding it a bit better. Really nicely put, all of them until now! I also quite enjoyed the thing, that there were exercise discussions when needed in the following lecture. At the beginning of the course, I was somewhat sceptical that we did not have any Exercise meetings, but I proved to be wrong on that, with the tutors sending us a detailed feedback for each exercise! 2. Lectures: I really loved the way the lectures are put. Really concise and straight to the point, when I needed them to doublecheck something! 3. Lecturer: When I came here at the University of Freiburg, I heard myths about the teaching of Prof. Bast being a supreme and genius lecturer, and to be honest, I was quite doubtful by the way students praised her... Well now, I can say myself, that she totally has earned it! She finds most of the time a perfect balance between an entertaining and at the same time really concise way to spread knowledge among us! I loved the way she briefly explains math giving us the right amount of foundations we need to grasp the concepts regarding a topic. Truly ingenious! Examples from the practice, forcing us to see concepts and intuitions to something, rather than just blankly look at equations. 4. Humor: I really loved the way the Prof and her staff tried to make the course even more pleasant for us by putting jokes here and there! 5. Organisation: Simply good. Materials for the course come always on time. If there are some issues with an exercise sheet, information on it spread almost instantly in the forum. And even once, Prof Bast being unable to give us a lecture in person, did a video recording from a hotel room... 6. Forum: Really useful! Answers to all kind of questions came almost instantly, no matter what time of the day or night! 7. Atmosphere: I really loved the way Prof Bast and her staff created an atmosphere around us, which forced, a work done in high quality putting the expectations high. Especially for coding exercises, where standards are similar to what one expects of leading software companies. A really neat way to prepare us for future work! 8. Thought: Just the effort that the staff put thought in each aspect of the course, making it simply pleasant and useful to do! Bitte weiter so! Wortspiele (Gollum, automagically), kreativer "turn over to next page", Humor ;-) Live-Coding super Videoauzeichnung (von der können andere Professoren was lernen) gute Erklärungen (auch von Mathe-Basics) Exercices are well prepared. benchmarks are fun. What i like the most is how the exercise sheets are desgined, it shows how much time was spent on preparing the exercises, and how could the exercises be more beneficial for the students. Professor Hannah Bast made the course seem easier with her good explanation, hints and notes. Forum sehr gut gepflegt, Antworten in kurzer Zeit. Gute Mischung aus Theorie und Praxis == Where do you see potential for improvement for this course? 1. The handwritten stuff in the slides is often illegible. 2. While I loved the coding guidelines for the exercises, some of them were a bit too restrictive. Like the Checkstyle. A bigger classroom, maybe. other than that it's very good. A little (5) minute break in the half or at an useful moment. The font size; when it's on the slides everything is great and good readable, but by the live-coding it's too small and exhausting to read, also the really helpful handwriting on the slides are often too small and not so well readable. Maybe at some points a bit slower at coding. A little bit more theory wouldn't hurt from time to time. Sometimes there were situations in the lecture, where a plain definition would have explained a lot more than just the "intuition" first. I still appreciated the mixture of both. Assignment evaluation is way too strict and should be relaxed. At first the work load of the exercise sheets seemed a bit much, but it took me a couple weeks to realize that this was my fault of slowly working and not because of the exercises Chat zum Livestream hinzufügen, so dass sich die Zuschauer austauschen können. Exercises can be better in terms of sections. I think there are too much expectations which wastes a lot of time for such a course such as checkstyles, jenkins etc. I like the existence of checkstyles but sometimes it makes contradiction to the text editors or IDE's. I can understand the motivation to evaluate code in terms of how is it written. But checkstyles still should be optional and only stays as warning, not an error! Thus can make jenkins also very useful. I also don't like the idea of unittest. Please keep in mind that I am not against unittests, what I mean is I rather spend my time to think about what has been taught and how may I improve it over writing and worrying about unittests. In short, unittests and checkstyle should be optional. Here are some problems I encountered 1. I had a hard time recognizing the handwriting on the slides 2. The time allocated for the last part of each lecture (which is usually "how to apply the theories to information retrieval") is generally too short. I had a high chance getting lost in this part. I had a very bad experience about our first non-implementation assignment, about "compression, codes, entropy”. The example she showed us during the lecture was understandable, but the corresponding assignment was too much. I honestly thought we weren’t asked to write really scientific proves for that assignment, since she didn’t do so during the lecture. But at the end, I received a very long feedback about the assignment from my tutor, saying how un-scientific it was. But when I checked it again, I saw that (even though it wasn’t completely correct), I did it as Prof. Bast. I think that the lectures about Web Applications (Lectures 6 and 7 - WiSe1718) were not so useful. I could do both exercises without any problem mainly because I had a lot of previous experience. My impression is that someone who did not know anything about Web Applications still does not know enough, but on the other hand someone who did already know about Web Applications gained no new knowledge about it. My feeling was that both lectures tried to cover a lot of topics and it was a lot for someone who did not know anything about it. However, it was very useful to see how to actually use all these algorithms in a real world application. But perhaps it could be done different. I mean, someone could probably teach one entire course about Web Applications. Perhaps the focus could be on delivering the results of a query as a JSON, rather than giving a lecture about JS, jQuery and CSS. If Professor Hannah lets us know in few seconds how she applies these small shortcuts she is using on computer, I am pretty sure the class would wake up and be more alert during the lecture :-) Oh! I think the answers given by students during the lecture shall also be awarded with cookies! :D (I "am" a true cookie monster! You can test it: I will gladly participate!) In general it was great course and there was nothing to improve. It could safe much time if the testcases were provided in Code, because especially in Python Doctests are sometimes a big pain if you not know how to do things the quick/right way. On one lecture the lecturer was solving homework for almost 45 min. Math on board's been extremely boing. Btw. We were told that we are using smartphone during the lectures despite we shouldn't.I think the reason is that lecture was just boring that moment. It should be feedback to lecturer that next time those parts should be omitted. Some ESs were extremely time consuming (eg es2) One nice thing I could think of regarding coding exercises is to allow students to peer inside solutions of their classmates. At least in exercises, where there was some competitiveness, I think that would be nice. To look at a solution to a problem, I myself had to do, from a different angle. Otherwise, I could not really think of anything, that bothered me about this lecture. Philosophische Fragen auf den Übungsblättern Probably more interaction between study groups (perhaps), the coursework is not too intensive - agreed ! but stalling the assignments till the last can make it seem like a bit too much at times, specially when you have no practical experience with python and numpy/scipy. Where i mostly struggled, have more engagement and discourse can perhaps foster a better system. But it would defy the purpose of exercises (or would it ? ) Provide more resources for LA... Learning from wikipedia and google is time consuming, a good resource would help a lot. Some exercise sheets were highly depending on programming languages libraries. Cause i did not had any experience with some of the libaries such as (Numpy, Scipy) made some exercise sheets harder for me. i think if there was a brief introduction for those libraries in the lectures will help the students much. Some time the formulas are hard to read on the slides due to the powerpoint formatting. Maybe a good idea would be to add them with something like latex2png as pictures. The assigned exercises are extremely intensive. They are both time and brain consuming. It's unfortunate since IR in not the only course that one takes in the semester. It would be nice if the grades of the exercises could be included in the final grade. It's rather unfair considering the amount of time and effort that has to be invested into the exercises. Also, it would be nice if the exercises were bi-weekly rather than weekly. The course is great in general and very informative. My only objection is that it feels all over the place. The topics are not directly (sometimes entirely) related to each other. I mean we are taught one topic then switch to another topics, then you come and say, "Remember that topic from 2 months ago, now here is a topic that is related to it". I can't propose any solution to that but I think the order of topics could use a little reshuffle, so the course can flow easier and evolve as it progresses. The exercises are quite a lot of work (though I have to admit that it might be difficult to reduce the workload, since the tasks itself are meaningful and helpful for understanding the lecture) The problem that I faced was that I didn't have any knowledge when it came to server- web development material so for me it would have been better if there was more time spent in the lecture while teaching this material. The sound in the recording could be better. This lecture made me love python and hate doctest. It is really infuriating if you have to spend a significant amount of time simply tweaking a test to give consistent outputs. This becomes even more difficult if things like numpy are used and not even print formatting is unambiguous any more. Maybe this is only due to my lack of python knowledge, but for me, the exercises would have caused MUCH less pain, if we would have had some data-based testing tool. (like for example gtest) Apart from that I really can't find anything about this course I didn't like! To make this course better, one might need to proof P = NP Tutorate! == Quality of the work of the tutor == Corrected the exercise sheets timely and gave good feedback. Daniel Tischner. Daniel Tischner was my tutor. He was very understanding, and his feedback was quite detailed and constructive. Thank you Daniel! Daniel Tischner, 1-, did really nice feedbacks; Daniel Tischner, 80, The feedback for every exercise usually comes out late but the content is helpful and clear. Daniel Tischner. He is very strict and not considerative. Danny Stoll, 1, provided very precise feedback for the exercises and was always helpful. Please do that job again! Or even better... do it for some class I didn't attend yet. Danny Stoll, 1, sehr gutes, konstrukives, hilfreiches Feedback Danny Stoll, 1.0, really appreciated the effort you put into reading through code and giving comments. 10/10 man! Danny Stoll, 1.3, has given detailed feedback. It was a bit unfortunate that he could not look at my sheets before the deadline but that wasn't his fault of course. Danny Stoll, 10/10, My tutor was great, always fair in his feedback. His feedback was often very useful in terms of good programming practices. Danny Stoll, 2.0 Danny Stoll, he seems to be very capable. Danny Stoll. Dadurch konnte man zusätzlich nochmal viel lernen. Note 1,0. Danny Stoll: Very good, gave nice feedback that was really helpful improving on my coding skills. I can’t say anything bad about my tutor. I can understand that he was doing his job, he was strict about the regulations, which was understandable. Sometimes I felt he was unfair, but I don’t want to be unfair, I know he was acting within the restrictions. Johannes Kalmbach (1.0) Always good and meaningful feedback, that was quite useful to understand my mistakes. Johannes Kalmbach, he was really good! Provided useful and insightful feedback Mein Tutor war Daniel Tischner. My tutor was Johannes Kalmbach. I want to thank him for his great feedback, which was very thorough and helpful. I am still a little impressed that, most of the time, he actually took the time to read and understand my code instead of just evaluating some test cases. EvaSys says that I am supposed to give a mark, so here's your 1,0! My tutor was Simon Selg. I'll give him a 1.0! His comments on my work were just helpful! Even when I got something right, he pointed to me ways in which I can improve on it and it was always a useful thing for me to read through his feedback! I could not wish more from a feedback :) My tutor was Simon Selgs, grade 8/10. His feedback was useful and the grades he gave me corresponded to what I thought I deserved for each exercise. N/A Name: Natalie Prange Grade: 2.3 comment: sometimes the tutor replied late or never replied at all to the question. Name: Patrick Grade: Very good Comment: 1. quick feedback 2. provide useful suggestion and detailed explanation 3. friendly attitude Natalie Prange Always got useful and helpful feedback. Natalie Prange 1.0 Schnell korrigiert, nett und ausführliche Erklärung. Natalie Prange, 1, Hinterlässt immer hilfreiche Kommentare und antwortet schnell und super freundlich auf Fragen Natalie Prange, 1, Nichts zu bemängeln Natalie Prange, 1, freundlich und schnell Natalie Prange, 1.0, Natalie was very friendly and responded to emails quickly, explaining and or changing the correction. The correction was always fair and precise, and the feedback was available by Thursday to Friday (mostly Thursday which means after 2 days), which was nice too. Nathalie, 1 Always quick with returning the correction and helpful with any questions Nathalie. Super Danke :D Patrick Brosi (Pb1042). I really like cooperation with him. He gives quick and valuable feedback. Alles in Allem: Top. Simon Selg The tutor was good, however I would have appreciated a more detailed feedback about the exercises. Also, timely grading would have been nice, I think only 2 of my exercises were graded on time. Simon Selg, 8/10, I appreciate his sincere replies and careful analysis over my work. He for sure helped me improve. For the last exercise sheets, I suppose both me and him had time management problems: the feedbacks were way shorter and came rather late. But it is okay. :-) Comparing with the things I learned from his comments, these are not big things. Blätter wurden sehr spät korrigiert Since this course is highly dependent to exercise sheets, grading of those sheets should be definitely faster. The tutor was actively helping with suggestions to make my code better and pointed out what i did wrong and how he recommends to do it, often times shared other talks that just help with coding better (not necessarily related to the course). There is always room for discussion and active communication. Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden. good quality of work name: Johannes Kalmbach, grade: very good, comment: his comments were really helpful, he always points on how can i improve the answers or how can i give more efficient solution.
